“It is about the quality of training– not quantity of training”
My passion for physical activity and its many benefits on health, the mind and body stemmed from my childhood. Competing in dance and athletics, performing in shows and pantomimes, being part of every sports team I could at school. I have always enjoyed being active and I am forever grateful for the healthy, balanced and active lifestyle I have been able to lead.
For the majority of my clients the goal is to build on their fitness, strength and change their body composition- usually lose body fat. I want my business to be true to what I believe in and I want to provide the best training service I can to my clients. I believe, resistance training, where progressive overload can be applied, is the most effective training to achieve results and empower my clients to feel stronger and love their training.
My Training Ethos
- Use training as a form of self-care for the mind and body.
- Exercise is not a punishment but to be enjoyed.
- Build awareness of the many benefits of effective training.
- Encourage intuitive training. Your body will not always be able to perform 100%. Sometimes the body requires rest, and I encourage listening to your body.
- A training program with optimal frequency and volume for the goals and lifestyle. You will be surprised that with an effective program, training 5x per week can be useless and unnecessary.
- Master technique then build up the resistance.
- Exercise selection should be specific to goals, target areas, weaknesses and posture.
- Weight selection is KEY to ensure every set counts.
- Empower clients with knowledge and support to ensure they are comfortable and confident in a fitness environment.
- Educate clients throughout their training and perfect technique to build clients self-belief, ultimately resulting in a sustainable training program they can go alone.
